Nominate a Mentor

We're on a mission to highlight the mentors, mentees, and youth programs powering the mentoring movement. If you know someone who deserves a shoutout, share their story to nominate them for a MENTOR of the Year Award.

Why Nominate?

All nominated mentors and their organizations are highlighted on social media and/or the MENTOR NY blog—so everyone gets their moment in the spotlight.

Awarded mentors also receive a MENTOR Star Plaque, $500 donation to their mentoring program, and VIP treatment at our Awards ceremony along with their mentees and program staff.

Sharing a Mentoring Story

You don't have to be a wordsmith to write a winning mentor nomination! Here are a couple of tips:

  • Head over to Words Matter for guidance on how to use asset-based language when talking about young people.

  • Review the rubric used by our independent selection committee to understand how recipients are chosen.

Alternatively, skip the writing and share a story via phone or video call—reach out to us to get started.
