Donate to MENTOR NY

Your gift has the power to reach young people wherever they live, learn, work, and play. Mentoring can happen anywhere—but it rarely happens by accident.

At MENTOR New York, we see the big picture. We see communities where mentoring is absent, where young people walk through school unseen and don't know who to turn to for support. Everywhere we see this gap, we see the potential for mentorship. Our work fosters positive mentoring opportunities for young people, but we can't do it without your support.

With one in three young people growing up without a mentor—and facing an epidemic of loneliness, a learning gap, and a widespread mental health crisis—there's no time to waste. Will you give the gift of mentoring?

Creating Spaces of Joy for Young People

You'll know mentoring is working when you see it. When young people are engaged in intentional, symbiotic mentoring relationships, they're comfortable using their voices and expressing their authentic selves. Don't be surprised by the smiles-joy is a natural outcome of effective mentorship. This joy and confidence empower mentored youth to excel in school, participate in more extra-curricular activities, emerge as leaders in their communities, and evolve into mentors themselves.

Sharing Mentoring Stories

From spotlighting program partners to celebrating mentors who make a difference, we're committed to uplifting stories about mentoring in real life. Explore inspiring mentoring relationships, initiatives, and more on the MENTOR New York blog.

Boosting Mentor Recruitment

We're taking on the challenge of mentor recruitment by exploring how to increase the number of volunteers in New York State. Our research findings will allow us to develop stronger, data-informed recruitment practices that can be leveraged by the whole mentoring movement.

Creating Spaces of Joy for Young People

We're dedicated to bringing together aging adults and young people to find connections in times of isolation. In 2023, MENTOR New York partnered with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and the Department for the Aging to launch My New York Story, an intergenerational mentoring initiative.

Participants engaged in community-based projects that promoted mutual understanding, empathy, and respect—enabling the transfer of knowledge and experiences.

Please contact Brenda Jimenez, MENTOR New York CEO, with any questions about your contribution.
