As part of a National Initiative to Increase Equity and Access to Quality Internships And Career Development Opportunities
MAY 10, 2021 – WESTBURY, NEW YORK – Beginning in May of 2021, ACRES Capital, a nationwide commercial real estate direct lender, and MENTOR New York, a nonprofit leading the statewide Mentoring Movement, will partner to infuse mentoring into the workplace through ACRES’s annual summer internship program.
With an already successful summer internship program, ACRES is further deepening their commitment to excellence and equity by partnering with MENTOR New York to facilitate a series of trainings and check-ins for supervisors and interns that introduce strategies for intentional relationship building.
Research from MENTOR shows that young people with mentors are more likely to succeed in school, become leaders in their communities, and be equipped with the tools they need to build a career.

The training delivered by MENTOR New York follows a one-of-a-kind curriculum developed as part of the National Mentoring Project, a national initiative spearheaded by MENTOR National with the support of the Schultz Family Foundation to serve as a turn-key solution for companies to leverage mentoring as a strategy for finding and retaining diverse talent through the development of increased social capital.
