CONFERENCES & EVENTS
Each year, MENTOR New York hosts conferences and events to amplify the NY Mentoring Movement. The annual Mentoring Matters Conference is a space for mentoring and youth development professionals to come together for professional development, networking, and peer sharing that advances the field. MENTOR New York's events bring together mentoring supporters across the state to celebrate mentoring and raise critical funds to further the Movement.
With limited low-cost professional development opportunities available for teachers, social workers, youth development professionals, and mentoring practitioners, MENTOR New York's conference creates an affordable option for professionals to come together for peer-sharing, networking, and learning of the best practices and latest research in mentoring and youth development.
Recently in April 2021, MENTOR New York hosted the virtual 2021 Mentoring Matters Conference.
Each year, MENTOR New York has two premier fundraising events: Mentoring's Night Out in Memory of Luke Boisi in the summer and the Mentoring Benefit in the fall. Under unprecedented circumstances, MENTOR New York has adapted to host a virtual event that brings together the best elements of our two annual fundraisers.
UPCOMING EVENT: virtual 2021 Mentor of the Year Awards
On Thursday, September 23rd at 6:00PM EST, MENTOR New York will host the virtual 2021 Mentor of the Year Awards presented by JPMorgan Chase and celebrate with community leaders and supporters of mentoring.
Now more than ever, mentoring is an important intervention for young people to find connection, support, and friendship after the unprecedented challenges of the last year. Mentoring programs need our support to better serve young people, and we need YOU to continue supporting them.
