THE EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL
MENTORING MATTERS CONFERENCE
presented by

Join us virtually on Friday, April 16, 2021.
The 18th annual Mentoring Matters Conference will focus on increasing racial justice and equity and creating spaces of joy for young people. 2020 proved that relationships fuel our existence and that allowing inequity to continue is unacceptable. For the professionals who work with and serve young people, now is the time to be courageous and take action toward an equitable future.
At the conference, you will have the space to connect, learn, reflect, reassess and redirect your work in ways that ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are a driving force. Tickets will be on sale soon.
COLLECTIVE COURAGE
What if everyone had the courage and confidence to identify and call out racial inequity? What if everyone committed to disrupting systems of oppression and rebuilding with equity?
The virtual 2021 Mentoring Matters Conference will convene courageous changemakers in the mentoring and youth development field. Together, we'll tackle hard conversations about racial inequity and systems of oppression to create actionable change that results in the infusion of joy and equity in all spaces where young people live, learn, work, and play.

CONFERENCE HISTORY
For 17 years, the Mentoring Matters Conference has served as one of New York State's most notable opportunities to bring timely, relevant and compelling information to mentoring programs, educators, youth-serving professionals, mentors, and families.
With limited low-cost professional development opportunities available for teachers, social workers, youth development professionals, and mentoring practitioners, MENTOR New York's conference creates an affordable option for professionals to come together for peer-sharing, networking, and learning of the best practices and latest research in mentoring and youth development.
The conference has been hosted on Long Island for 17 years and, in 2019, an additional conference was held in Niagara County to allow for participation from the Western New York mentoring community.
Due to the global pandemic, the conference planned for Western New York in 2020 was canceled.
